Chemex

(recommended ratio of 1:15)

An iconic brewer with a timeless design invented in 1941, the Chemex is easy to use and easy on the eyes. A simple slow dripping method that uses a medium-coarse grind, it brews a clean cup and maintains body and balanced floral notes.

Advantages:

  • Produces good coffee almost by itself and offers a stronger brew than a regular filter.

Disadvantages:

  • Very sensitive to the amount of water added to the filter

Preparation steps:

1. Ground the fresh beans on a medium gradient (BLACKCoffee recommends Guatemala Huehuetenango beans or The 75th Anniversary Blend) 2. Pour in 24g of coffee grounds into the folded paper filter or the special Chemex filter.

3. Pour water slowly and distribute it well to allow it to channel through the grounds. 4. Carefully watch over the amount of water added.

5. Served in a mug or a ceramic mug
